Susan Bergmann is proud to be a graduate of the
California State University system (California
State Polytechnic University, Pomona, B.A. in
1981). She received her Ph.D. in Child
Development and School Psychology from the
University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 1990.
Her dissertation, entitled “Patterns of Adaptation
in Middle Childhood,” was completed as part of
the Mother-Child Intervention Project, under the
supervision of Alan Sroufe.


Dr. Bergmann opened her private practice in
1992. For many years, she worked in the field of
custody and mediation as a private evaluator,
special master, co-parenting counselor, and child
therapist. At the present time, Dr. Bergmann is no
longer performing evaluations, but does continue
her work with families and children of divorce.
